Cecil Harless Dalton, 77, of Rising Sun, MD, died Sunday April 1, 2012 at Union Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Pulaski, VA on January 27, 1935, Cecil was the son of the late William H. and Nellie Thomas Dalton. Cecil was employed by the Fawn Grove Mfg. Co. in Rising Sun for 28 years and retired from the Cecil County Board of Education. He was a former member of Pleasant View Baptist Church and a devoted family man.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Grace Eastridge Dalton; two sons, Stephen H. Dalton and his wife Tonya of Strasburg, PA and Kevin A. Dalton and his wife Michelle of Rising Sun; 6 grandchildren, Amy Hall of Abingdon, MD, Sgt. 1st Class Stephen B. Dalton, US Army, of Clarksville, TN, Natasha Dalton of Harrisburg, PA, Christopher Dalton of North East, MD, Samantha and Brittany Dalton of Rising Sun as well as 10 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sister Elsie Cook, brother Marvin Dalton and brother in law Delmar Guynn of Pulaski as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers Lowell, Wilmer and Gene Dalton and sisters Emily Guynn and Aileen Kemp.
A service honoring his life will be held at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 111 S. Queen St., Rising Sun, MD 21911 on Thursday April 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family may call at the funeral home Wednesday April 4 from 6 – 8:00 p.m. or one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Conowingo Baptist Cemetery.
