Catherine M. Watson, age 71, of Chesapeake City, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Union Hospital in Elkton, MD. She was born on April 15, 1947 in Eddystone, PA to the late William N. and Catherine Malizia Weitz.

A loving and caring homemaker, Cathy was the best wife to her husband, mother to her two daughters, and grandmother to her six grandchildren. She enjoyed her house and life on the C&D Canal. Catherine looked forward to the February trips to Key Largo, FL and trips to Sanibel and Captiva Island. Her greatest joy came from being a grandmother to her six grandchildren who will miss her dearly.

She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, John Watson, of Chesapeake City, MD; daughters, Vicki Counihan and husband, Christopher, of Wilmington, DE, and Wendy Garland, and her husband, Steve, of Middletown, DE; six grandchildren, Abby, Audrey, Madelyn, Benjamin, Brandon, and Grant.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her sister, Carol Burr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 371 East Main Street, Middletown, DE 19709. Friends and family may visit one-hour prior beginning at 10AM at the church. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the “Chesapeake City Ecumenical Association” and sent c/o R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A. 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921.
