To Bill Kirk and his Family. Carolyn was a friend, always glad to see you, always talked with anyone. Her children and mine went to N E Methodist Church together, played sports together. No matter what school she taught at, everyone admired her . As a Principal, the students were always her priority. My prayers are with all of you. A great Lady.

Dear Billy,Kevin and Amy, I wish I could have attended the service. It’s been so long since I’ve seen you. I would also have liked to see and meet the grandchildren. I remember reading Dad’s letters from the war. He was always remarking about Carolyn and how she was really “something.” I think they were quite close. Carolyn always played with Becky and me and Tom if he was with us when we visited Aunt Mary and Uncle Jim in Bayview. When my mother (Gerry) was pregnant with Bridget ,Carolyn would grab me and say she was going to throw me down the stairs if I couldn’t remember the name they were going to call the new baby if it was a girl! She helped us with any schoolwork or things we needed to do for Sunday School. She always made sure we got all of our gold and blue stars in our Sunday school notebooks. I guess we were her first “pupils. “. She used to tell the story that she was so concerned because I didn’t have all the stars for memorizing the books of the bible. Finally I said them all backwards. Who needs your stars. Amy ,when you and Kevin were older Bridget and I used to visit and play with you when you lived near the old library in North East. Carolyn was smart and clever. She will be missed. H.T. and Gerry’s daughter. Sarah Delaney

To dear friend, Bill Kirk, and his family - Kevin and Amy - their families and all the grandchildren - what a legacy those grandchildren have in a dynamic grandmother, Carolyn Kirk - she really gave her all for the children in her schools and the teachers who supported them.- she is no longer suffering here on earth. She loved Bill and her family. She was a good friend. Rest in peace, Carolyn...and sending prayers for comfort and healing to all her family and close friends.

Dear Bill, Kevin, Amy, and Grandchildren; Jerry and I were sad to learn of Carolyn's death, but know that she was not able to live life to the fullest for some time. Now she is free of her disease and can rest in peace knowing what a great love you shared with her. We wish we could have relieved her of her problem, but know that it was impossible. May the memory of her illness soon give way to all the words of goodness she bestowed upon her family and friends and all the students whose lives she enriched. Carolyn and I shared lot of things in the 2 years we roomed together in college and later on the beach in O.C. Even though we can not comprehend why things happen as they do, you have our deepest sympathy as you work through your grief and sadness.

Sending Condolences to the Kirk family -- Bill, Kevin, Amy and grandchildren. Carolyn was such a nice person. She and Bill were my mom's neighbor in North East for quite sometime before selling their home. It was always nice to see Carolyn at the North East High School Alumni Banquets. Take care, Sandy (Potts) Alexander
