Brenda and Robert “Bobby” Graybeal

Brenda Gail Graybeal, age 69, and Robert “Bobby” Taylor Graybeal, Jr., age 66, of Rising Sun, MD, both passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022. Brenda was born on October 16, 1952 in Baltimore, MD to the late Robert Palmer and Virona (Callahan) Palmer. Robert was born on July 26, 1955 in Bloomfield, IA to Agnes Anne (Hainline) Graybeal and the late Robert Taylor Graybeal, Sr.

Brenda and Bobby were both members of Conowingo Baptist Church for many years. They built their home on Palmer Lane, which was known as “The Hill” where Brenda and Bobby spent many days entertaining family and friends. Brenda loved gardening, reading, and taking scenic road trips with Bobby. Bobby enjoyed hunting, fishing, and crabbing every chance that he got. As an accomplished barber, Bobby loved cutting hair for his family and close friends. He took great joy in cooking and was always known for his crab soup.

Brenda and Bobby are survived by their two sons: Larry Tant, II and his wife, Myra of Wilmington, DE and Robert Graybeal, III and his wife, Nikki of Rising Sun, MD; daughter, Kristin M. Sprout and her husband, Brandon of Benson, NC; ten grandchildren: Layne, Bryce, Alissa, Bobby, Brooklynn, Ellasyn, Grayson, Audrey, Donae, and Calia; and German Shepherd, Abbey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Brenda is also survived by her brother, Robert Doil Palmer and his companion, Lisa of Elkton, MD; three sisters: Rose Taylor and her husband, Mike of Ocean City, MD, Robyn Devonshire and her husband, Terry of Rising Sun, MD, and Melissa Ward and her husband, Tom of Rising Sun, MD; sister-in-law, Florence Palmer of North East, MD. In addition to her parents, Brenda is preceded in death by her brother, Roger Palmer.

Bobby is also survived by his mother, Agnes Graybeal of Rising Sun, MD; two brothers: Randy Graybeal and his wife, Patti of Colora, MD, and John Graybeal and his wife, Michelle of Colora, MD; sister, Cheryl Wiggins and husband, Doug of Rising Sun, MD. In addition to his father, Bobby is preceded in death by his life-long friend, Joe Roberts.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to “Conowingo Baptist Church” and send in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.O. Box 248, Rising Sun, MD 21911.

Two great friends that will be greatly missed

So sad and shocked to hear of the loss of both Bob and Brenda. Brenda was in my high school class and Bob was in my sister's class. Brenda and I worked together in high school at Bainbridge, what a fun time we all had. Bob and Brenda were neighbors to my brother and sister-in-law so I enjoyed visits around the pool in summer. Bob and Brenda were such fun people, I can't believe they are gone. Condolences to the family.

To All Family members and Friends: As I set here and write this note, I think back on all the memories that I have knowing these two great friends. I became acquainted with the both of them through my years of working at Terumo Medical Corporation. I began my friendship with Brenda when she was hired somewhere around 1978-9. She and I worked in many different capacities. Always had fun at work, and company sponsored events like softball, dances and picnics. Bobby began working at Terumo when we started the production line for Syringes. I worked with Bob as he was a Maintenance Technician. Bobby was a fun person to be around, always laughing, joking and making funny comments. As the years went on, my family began to attend the parties at Bob and Brenda’s house: Halloween, BBQ’s, hair cutting day and live music night. They always put together a great food feast. Bob, as you know, was a great cook and everybody and I mean everybody, raved about his crab soup. Probably one of his best kept secrets. I’ve only touched on a few of my great memories as I came to know them. I’m sure that each and every one, that knew them, has such wonderful memories of their own. This just don’t seem possible. I love you both and will miss you dearly. I will also miss going out to dinner, especially La Toltecs in Aberdeen. And all the drives to the Amish stores in Lancaster. But mostly I will miss you two not being next door. Don’t know how to live here without you and seeing your house everyday and you not being there. Only thing that keeps me sane is knowing you are in beautiful Heaven with Mom, Dad and Roger. I just can’t believe I’ll never see you again. My heart is breaking. I love you two so much. This is for all the family of Bob and Brenda. You all mean so much to Gene and me. Bob and Brenda, but he and Kristen were all part of our wonderful church family at Conowingo. I remember Bob being in the Easter play and he was always ready to share how he got saved. I remember the sweet corn fellowships when he would bring his crab cooker and we would fill ourselves with corn on the cob. The big hill at their house was perfect for the sledding and bonfire on snow days. Larry I remember you as well. My prayer is that you understand the brevity of life and that you know to have Jesus is the only way to life everlasting with all who are redeemed or forgiven. This is to all the family of Bob and Brenda. Gene and I dearly love them and we have such wonderful memories together of Buddy and Kristen being in the youth group and the many things we did together. I remember Bob being in the Easter plays and always excited to share how he got saved They both welcomed us at their home especially for winter time sled riding and the big bonfire. Buddy you and Kristen were blessed and Larry so were you. Death is something we don’t plan on but the only way to be assured of an everlasting life in heaven with Jesus and family is to be saved.
