Bradley Rusty Sheaffer, 60, of Elkton, MD, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 2, 2025. He was born February 22, 1964 in Delaware County, PA, to the late John Eugene Sheaffer, and Ruth Lillian (Riggins) Sheaffer.
Brad, owned and operated his own business, Sheaffer Plumbing, where he spent over 30 years as an excellent plumber and excavator. He was a proud member of the Sons of The American Legion in Elkton, MD. Brad had an appreciation for trains, and a particular fondness for bears. He enjoyed traveling to new places and had a passion for music, with a special fondness for Johnny Cash, Bob Seger, Elvis Presley, and Rod Stewart.
Family was at the core of Brad’s life, a devoted family man, he would begin each day with a cup of coffee while spending time with family and friends. He especially enjoyed going out to restaurants and spending quality time with his loved ones, particularly his grandchildren. He was known to them affectionately as “Poppie”. Brad will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
Brad is survived by his loving wife, of 26 ½ years: Theresa Sheaffer; his children: Jim DeGeorge (Samantha), Nicole DeGeorge (Matt Roach), and Samantha DeGeorge; grandchildren: Savannah DeGeorge, Connor DeGeorge, Gianna Catalutch, Matthias Roach, Bradley DeGeorge, and Romeo Roach; siblings: Bruce, Debbie, Cherylann, Brent, Heidi, and Brian; many nieces and nephews; many sister and brother in-laws; father-in-law, Jim Gallagher; and his loving fur baby, Dino.
Celebration of life will take place in the near future. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Brad’s honor may be made payable to “American Legion Post 15” and sent in care of R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 259 East Main St., Elkton, MD 21921.
