Beatrice Mae Foraker, 78, of Bear, DE, passed away peacefully with her daughter and granddaughter by her side on July 3, 2016. Born on April 6, 1938 in Elkton, MD, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Henry and Elsa Mae (Gimple) Cato.
Beatrice loved to read, playing cards with her best friend, Nancy, going to yard sales, going to Goodwill, cooking and baking, and greatly enjoyed being around people. Her favorite musicians were George Jones and Keith Urban. Beatrice also loved her co-worker family in Middletown, DE.
Beatrice is survived by her loving husband, David R. Foraker; daughter, Deborah Smith-Freso and her husband, William of Bear, DE; son, James Robert Smith and his wife, Marie of Newark, DE; sisters: Winnie Simpers of Inverness, FL, and Phyliss Ann Hunt of Elkton, MD; 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Beatrice is preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Services in Beatrice’s honor will be held at 11 AM on Friday, July 8, 2016 at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 E. Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921, where friends and family may visit beginning at 10 AM. Burial will follow the service at Elkton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made payable to your choice of the following: “Vitas Healthcare,” “Brookside Lions Club,” or “Meals on Wheels of DE” and sent care of the funeral home.
