Barry A. Temple, age 67, of Elkton, Maryland, passed away on October 5, 2025. Born in Wilmington, Delaware on February 11, 1958, he was the beloved son of the late Lester and Betty (née Underwood) Temple.
Barry began his working life on the horse farm of Patricia DuPont, where his strong work ethic and love of the outdoors were evident from the start. He later found his calling as a skilled sprinkler fitter and was a proud member of Sprinkler Fitters Union Local #669. Barry eventually joined the team at IKEA Furniture Company, where he worked diligently until his retirement.
A true Harley-Davidson enthusiast, Barry found his greatest joy cruising the open roads on his beloved Softail Custom. Whether riding solo or with friends, he cherished the freedom and camaraderie that came with life on two wheels. He was also a passionate Philadelphia Eagles fan who never missed a game and a lifelong Led Zeppelin listener—his music and often filling the room.
Barry will be remembered for his authenticity and straightforward nature—he always told you exactly how he felt. His quick wit, and unwavering loyalty made him a friend you could always count on. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Barry was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Darlene Temple.
He is survived by his brothers, Lester “Mickey” Temple and his wife Loraine, Mike Temple, and Chris Temple; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who will forever cherish his memory.
A Celebration of Barry’s Life will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025 at 2:00 PM at R.T. Foard Funeral Home, 111 South Queen Street, Rising Sun, Maryland. Family and friends are invited to visit beginning at 1:00 PM.
