Alana Ann Davies, age 72 of Newark, DE passed away on July 7, 2022. She was born on July 3, 1950 in New Brunswick, NJ to the late Alan Lyons Bierce and Jeanne A. (Granger) Bierce.

Alana grew up in New Brunswick, NJ and worked as a Licensed Nurse Practitioner for many years. After retiring, she enjoyed working as a cashier at Shop Rite where she made many friends. She was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Newark, DE for many years. Alana enjoyed reading, watching medical and crime drama, and listening to country music and The King, Elvis. She was also an avid Mets fan. Alana loved her family and cherished spending time with them.

Alana is survived by her daughter, Belinda Young-Payne and her husband, David; sons: James Young, Sr. and his wife, Loranda, and Freddie Bierce; grandchildren: Mariah Payne, Joshua Payne, James Young, Jr., and Sydney Young; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and other family members.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Forgione and her brother, George Bierce.

A celebration of Alana’s life will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 276 South College Avenue, Newark, DE 19711. Family and friends may attend the visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to, “DE Humane Association” or “DE SPCA” and sent in care of R.T. Foard & Jones, Inc., 122 West Main Street, Newark, DE 19711.
